Ms. Sarah

Ms. Sarah was born and raised in Houston, TX. She moved to San Antonio in 2011 to study Art at Trinity University where she obtained her BFA and a Masters in Education (MAT). She has been instructing and helping children to create art since she was in high school and is a (TEA) certified Texas Elementary Educator. When she is not teaching at Artworks she can often be found painting out and about in San Antonio and Austin, TX.

Ms. Lisa
Founder
Lisa Mares was born in San Antonio, Texas. She has been an advocate for children since age 12, she was the neighborhood mama! After high school, she attended San Antonio College and studied business where she received an A.A.S in Management. She continued her education at St. Mary's University where she received a BA in Philosophy and English. After teaching for three years in a middle school setting, Lisa began a home childcare business in 1987. Artworks was created in 1996. In 2017, after almost 22 years of business, Lisa sold the Alamo Heights location, as a franchise to Sarah. Lisa continues to work at Artworks by providing mobile field trips to schools in the San Antonio area. In 2015, Lisa started an after-school program called
The San Antonio Nature School.
