Last summer we tried Summer Art Tickets and it was a hit! This summer, the Nacogdoches location will offer various once-a-week classes, in addition to camps.

Once-a-week enrollment Info
* Summer art classes will be administered in tickets.
* Tickets may be shared with friends, cousins and/or siblings.
* Tickets are transferable to other art programs: Open Art, Art Night Out or Birthday Parties–not camps.
* We understand people travel and will not be attending every week, however we require a purchase of 10 classes in advance.
* There are a total of twelve classes in the summer.
* Classes are limited to 10 students.
* Classes make if we have 4 or more students, a full refund will be given if the class does not make.

Spring Break Camp

During camp, spend the day being an artist as we experiment with mixed-media painting, collage, drawing, and sculpture. All materials will be provided. Learn a wide range of new skills and experiment with mixed-media painting using watercolor, acrylics, collage materials, markers, oil pastels, clay, wood, wire and more.

Join us by the day and choose half day or full day options. All materials will be provided.

We provide a nutritious snack. All day campers please pack a lunch. We have a refrigerator and a microwave.

Please dress for mess! Camps are for children ages 4-12.

Draw, Dream and Doodle: Elements of art applied to drawing, painting and sculpture. This class is great for the beginning artist.
June 13-June 17
Everything Animals: Drawing, Painting, Paper Mache and clay. Explore jungles, forests, deserts and oceans. Bring a picture of your pet or your favorite animal for pet portraits.

Sculpture 3-D Art: Earth Clay, Wire, Wood, Papier Mache, Puppets, Collage and Multimedia Sculptures
June 27-July 1
Art Around the World Get your Passport to Art: Learn about different countries through art! Japan, Russia, Australia, China & Mexico-All media. Painting, Collage, Printing, Sculpture and Drawing.
July 11-July 15
From the Sea: Mermaids, Fish Printing, Sand Art, Sea Monsters, Papier Mache, Write or dictate a story about an imaginary ocean village.
July 18-July 22
Working with Color: color theory- working with tint, tone and shade on canvas and paper. All types of paint.
July 25-July 29
Drawing and Painting for Beginners: Learn the basic elements of art. Shape and line will be explored while we draw and paint our way through several projects.
August 1-August 5
Famous Artist Series: Explore Artists A-Z—Crash Course on the fun techniques of the most creative Artists! Dress for Mess! This class has it all.
August 8-August 12
Everything People: Drawing, painting, paper mache, photography and wire. Explore faces, people in action, portraits, learn how to draw hands, caricatures and cartoon people.
August 15-August 19
Everything Animals: Drawing, Painting, Paper Mache and clay. Explore jungles, forests, deserts and oceans. Bring a picture of your pet or your favorite animal for pet portraits.

March and April are great months to schedule a canvas painting party! We promise you will not be a copy cat.
Creating out of your brain is far more valuable than having a group of painters leave with the same picture!

Two locations to choose from!
The Nacogdoches location has outdoor picnic tables and a playground, children may have cake inside or outside.
The Mainland location has an indoor party room.
Every birthday party at Artworks is customized.
We provide the music, space, materials and the staff.
Bring your own food and drinks. We have a freezer for ice cream.
An Artworks party is great fun for the whole family!

* Special projects are available: (some projects have a small fee for materials)
            tie dye shirts/pillowcases, canvas painting, paint/decorate an apron,   
            jewelry making, wood sculptures, painting a treasure box,
            papermaking, monoprinting, earth clay, shrink art,
            photo printing of each guest and a wooden frame to paint, 
            paint a bird house, paint a canvas tote bag, paint a wooden desk organizer and more!
* We provide the invitations
* We give you ideas for cake, food and decor
* 2 Art Assistants
* 2 hours duration

OUR CURRICULUM

Our approach to teaching art is to expose children to different artists and techniques. Children enjoy learning about artists and art history. Teachers will show examples, then put them away so they can create their own piece based on the idea. We teach parents how to see the child’s unique style. Parents are soon able to pick out their child’s artwork in a group of ten-fifteen pieces. Children enjoy learning about art styles, art history and about the masters of past days and those still living. Children begin to compare and contrast artists as they build on their knowledge and they start expressing what styles they enjoy. Children like working with different media and eventually find their artist’s way!

OUR CLASSES

At Artworks we read books, learn about famous artists, practice art techniques and explore different media. Independence and creativity abound in classes designed for your young artist. Children will explore and create with varied media in an environment that encourages self expression and artistic development. Classes are based on a theme or art concept and always include literature. As your young artist grows we will continue to explore basic concepts while incorporating more advanced methods and materials that will challenge their intellectual, perceptual and physical skills as well as teaching them new ones. We paint, draw, sculpt, play, work, think and create. We are inspired by music, literature, conversation and silence. We watch, we listen and we plan. Teachers at Artworks help develop work habits and organizational skills. Teachers also help children to appreciate others, themselves and their world. Join us for a fun art experience!
