What People Say:

I love Artworks! It's a great environment for children of all ages! My children really enjoy Mrs. Lisa and the staff. The art teacher’s spunky attitudes and hilarious jokes make my children feel right at home.
MISSION STATEMENT

Artworks, an art studio for children seeks to develop and strengthen creative skills, build self-esteem, build social skills, develop a sense of self, encourage expression and stimulate imagination.

PHILOSOPHY

We all desire the opportunity to make meaning out of our world by having unique experiences to express ourselves. Unfortunately, we live in a fast paced technical world and our time is very limited. Free play and creative time often do not fit into our busy schedules. At Artworks we value creating for the sake of creating. At Artworks we believe drawing and painting are important, however drawing and painting do not meet the needs of the majority of the children who seek creative expression. Our classes are geared to teach creativity for life. Therefore, we introduce a wide variety of materials to create unique one-of-a kind art pieces.

Artworks is founded on the premise that making and doing with our bodies is a must to express anger, happiness, fear, and humor. Art is a knowing that we do not know. We are usually not given many opportunities to create for the sake of creating. At Artworks, our goal is to let children, teens and adults explore and experiment, art is a process, not a product. We encourage experimentation and problem solving.

We are all born creative, but if we neglect to develop and strengthen these skills, our creativity becomes inhibited. By assisting and encouraging a child's creativity, we give children meaning and help them use their imagination. When we use our imagination, we are free to go anywhere and be anything.

Children desire the opportunities to manipulate materials. At Artworks we give children freedom and provide an outlet for self-expression. We believe teaching one child extends to society and eventually reaching one child, changes the world. Children, teens and adults who want a safe place for expression and holistic approach to learning should visit Artworks because it is a haven in a paint-by-number world.

Please join us and explore in a playful environment that is non-competitive and non-judgmental.
